DESCRIPTION:On January 21 New York Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed the licensure of companies engaged in debt collection. Aside from licensing debt collectors\, the bill also proposes new disclosures and restrictions on debt collection some of which would prohibit the CFPB's proposed limited content message and email communication rules.\n\n \n\nThe panelists will also explore the proposed licensing process and RMAI's efforts in response to the Governor's proposal.
